Flock camera map FAQs

Is there an official Flock camera map?

No. Flock Safety does not publish a public map of its cameras. This map, like other transparency projects, is built from cameras that volunteers have documented on OpenStreetMap after spotting them from public roads.

How do I use the Flock camera map?

Zoom into a city or tap “Find cameras near me.” Cameras load automatically for the area you are viewing. Click any red dot to see details such as the operator or manufacturer where known.

Does the map show cameras other than Flock?

Yes, but Flock dominates: about 77% of the cameras on this map are explicitly tagged as Flock Safety devices by the volunteers who reported them. The rest are ALPRs from vendors like Motorola Solutions and Genetec — tap any pin to see the manufacturer. Regular CCTV and traffic cameras are not included; the map only shows license plate readers.

Why is a camera I know about missing?

The map only shows cameras someone has reported. Coverage is strongest in larger metro areas and growing quickly everywhere else. You can add missing cameras yourself on openstreetmap.org and they will appear here.
