Flock camera alerts

Cameras go up without notice. Pick a place and you will get an email when one is newly reported within 5 miles — at most once a week, and only when there is something to tell you.

Alert FAQs

What triggers an alert?

A camera being added to OpenStreetMap within the distance you chose. Once a week the newly added cameras are compared against every alert area, and you get one email listing the ones near you. No new cameras, no email.

Does “new” mean the camera was just installed?

Not necessarily. It means a volunteer mapped it this week. A camera can stand for months before someone reports it, so an alert tells you it is newly on the map, not newly on the pole.

What do you store about me?

Your email address, the centre of the area rounded to about a kilometre, and the radius. Nothing else — no name, no exact address. Unsubscribing deletes all three.

How do I stop the emails?

Every alert has an unsubscribe link, and mail apps that support one-click unsubscribe show their own button. Either one removes you immediately.
